It's been a long time since I've written anything here, so I just wanted to stop by and say hi. I set up my new blog today, where I posted an update on the future of WinCue. I'm also glad to tell you that we now have a working forum again. Please feel free to share your thoughts. I would very much like your feedback on where to go from here.

I am glad to announce that WinCue v1.40 is finally out and ready for you to download. There's a ton of new features in this release, so be sure to check it out.

Since I've already started working on the next generation of Wincue I thought I might as well let you people have a chance at telling what you want for the next major release of your favourite media library. Go check out the Wincue2 wishlist and tell me what you need.

I've finally taken the time to update the FAQ and online documentation. Hopefully this will answer most of the questions you may have about WinCue v1.40 (Beta 2) and Winamp 5.x. Please let me know if something is unclear or missing. The documentation for version 1.35 is still available.

Well, at least I can say we are one step closer to the final release of WinCue v1.40. However, some errors were reported during the first beta period, so I decided to fix them and go for another round of testing. Not much else to say really, except go grab it, of course..

The site was down between tuesday and friday this week because my web host moved their servers and forgot to tell me. The site is back up now and the problems have been resolved.

Are you interested in participating in the WinCue project and become a developer? We are currently looking for talented C++ programmers to help us make the WinCue plug-in even better. There are many areas of the project in which we need assistance, so please don't hesitate to contact me (anders@wincue.org) if you are interested in becoming a part of the development team. More information about the WinCue open source project can be found on the project page at SourceForge.net.

In all the excitement about the new beta release I felt an urge to clean up the web site as well, and so I did. The new site is hopefully neater, slicker, faster and easier to use than the old one. Hope you like the change, and if not, please let me know ;)

Finally, it's here! The first official release of the new open source version of WinCue. The most feature-packed version ever, and this time with full source code available! Go download it right away. (You don't have to compile it yourself of course, a regular installer is provided as usual.) The list of new features and fixes is so long I don't even know where to start. I suggest you go see for yourself. Hope you enjoy.

I am proud to announce that I have decided to release WinCue into the open source community. I have started a SourceForge.net project for WinCue, and I am planning to make the first file release (binary and source code package) within a few weeks. I am hoping the project will benefit from the open source development model, and that you will se more rapid development and bug-fixes in the future. Co-developers are welcome to join me on the development team, so if you are interested in helpnig out, just send me an e-mail.

I have no idea what to write here, I'm just glad I finally have a new release for you. There's a ton of new features and fixes in this version, so you better go get it.

I am happy to tell you that my web host recently upgraded their database
server to cope with increased traffic. As a result, the site should be a
lot quicker now, and any speed problems you may have had with the forum or the site in general is now a thing of
the past.

I wasn't planning on releasing another beta before the final release, but as there turned out to be a few more issues with the first beta than what I expected I thought I'd give this one just a bit more testing before making it final. More info on what's new in this version can be found in the discussion forum, but before you go there you should of course download it and give it a try.

I finally took the time to install a proper message board system on the site. The new message board is powered by phpBB and offers far more features than the previous one. I am hoping that more people will be using the forum from now on, and that together we will create an active WinCue community. Go visit the forum and see for yourself.

You will have to wait just a little bit longer for the final release of
version 1.35, but while you are waiting I figured you might as well help
me with some beta testing, therefore I decided to put up the beta version
for public downlading. Go grab it, there's a
lot of new stuff to try out!
by Anders Sandvig (anders@wincue.org)
I have set up a new PayPal account to recieve donations from those of you who are willing to contribute financially. I am hoping that the switch to PayPal will make things easier and that more people now will be willing to donate some money to support the development of WinCue.

Welcome to the new web site. I have done a lot of changes so I hope you
like the new look.
